Nicholas Hoult has ruled out a return to Skins for the show’s final seventh season, claiming that he is too busy with movie work to reappear in the E4 teen drama.

Skins will conclude in 2013 with a seventh series, featuring a number of former actors from the three generations of casts.

However, Hoult confirmed to The Sun that he would not be one of those returning.

“No, I’m not going to be doing it. I loved Skins but I don’t think I can fit it in,” he said.

“I’m filming Mad Max in Namibia, which will mean I’m away for ages.”

Hoult played Tony Stonem for two series of the teen drama in 2007 to 2008. Since leaving the show, he has starred in movies such as X-Men: First Class and A Single Man.

Skins writer Jamie Brittain confirmed earlier this year that Jack O’Connell will be reprising his role as James Cook in the seventh-series finale.

Mad Max: Fury Road is to begin filming in Namibia next month, lead actress Charlize Theron has said.

The Prometheus star told Shock Till You Drop that she is eager for the George Miller-helmed project to commence following multiple delays during pre-production.

“I’m very excited about it; I’m f**king dying!” said Theron. “It’s been three years; it’s time to skin this cat already!”

Mad Max: Fury Road, the fourth entry in the series, was originally going to shoot in Broken Hill, Australia until a flood engulfed the area and left it covered with flowers and greenery.

“It was a huge problem,” Theron explained. “The desert never recovered. Well, it did recover in a beautiful way, just not the way we needed!”

Tom Hardy will play protagonist Max Rockatansky in the upcoming sequel, a role made famous by Mel Gibson in the previous installments. Nicholas Hoult, Zoe Isabella Kravitz, and Adelaide Clemens will feature among the supporting cast.

Mad Max: Fury Road is yet to be assigned a release date.

Here’s some bad — though not quite apocalyptic — news for “Mad Max” fans.

Tom Hardy seems none too confidant that cameras will start rolling anytime soon on “Mad Max 4: Fury Road,” the proposed sequel to the iconic dystopian franchise.

“We keep moving that around, you know?” Hardy told Empire Magazine at the Cannes Film Festival. “Who knows when it’ll come out? I’ve been on stand-by for two years… but it’s all part of it.”
